Elizabeth Grace made such amazing clothing (her skirt was especially darling!), accessories (her purse was fashionable and fun) and jewelry (I keep trying to sneak her paper bead and wooden necklaces away from her). Our oldest had taken a class with a quilting shop, but she was not really taught the basics of sewing (pattern cutting and hand stitching) so she walked away from the class with the inability to replicate what she had learned. Durga and Kathy structured the (DezignKIdz) class in such a way that it permitted the children to learn the basic skills while still allowing them to be as creative as they wanted to be. Our oldest daughter has been so inspired that she spends countless hours designing and creating dolls, clothing, bags and multiple other items. Her enthusiasm has spread to her friends.  She now has sewing play dates where her friends come for the purpose of sewing items together.  Since the initial class the girls have taken a few other classes with DezignKids and each class has been inspirational to the girls.  They enjoyed learning to make a dress and a special doll or stuffed animal.  WOW.  We are so thankful that they gave our girls another way to express their creativity. Thank you Durga and Kathy.

My daughter Kelly (8) loved DezignKids camp because the instructors were so fun, patient and managed to take individual time with each student. Kelly was so proud of her skirt and wore it on the first day of school! Our family was blown away by the high-end, dramatic fashion show - that was totally unexpected and a great memory for us all!

I must tell you that Natalie had a BLAST at DezignKidz camp. She learned so much about patterns, sewing, the history of clothing, etc. I loved hearing all about it -- and watching her shine in the dress she designed and made.

My daughter Lina had an amazing time. Not only did she begin learning a skill that will last her a life time, but she has now been introduced to the design world in a fun way. She is so proud of her dress and has worn it numerous times already.

I was so impressed with my daughter's experience in DezignKidz camp.  From sketching, to measuring, to cutting, pinning, and sewing, the kids had their hands on every step of the way.  My daughter loves the tunic she made, and she even chose it to wear to the first day of school!  Every single garment at the fashion show was an individual creation, not a cookie-cutter version of the same thing, and the kids seemed thrilled at the chance to shine in the spotlight. We hope to participate in many more DezignKidz programs.

DezignKidz was so much fun!  I had a really good time.  We drew pictures of some tunics, and then we decided which one we liked best.  After that, we cut our fabric.  It was fun!  After we cut our fabric, we pinned it together.  Then we went to the sewing machine to sew up our garments. Then we sewed or ironed on our embellishments.  After that, we practiced for the fashion show. After all that work to make our beautiful garments, it was fashion show night!!!!  DezignKidz is one of the greatest camps in the world!
